Details
Kiyoko is the average height for a girl her age, only coming in at 165cm. Her skin tones is a very warm color, being of fair complexion. Her hair is dark brown and short, ending at the top of her neck. The middle of hair is parted back and tied back with a ribbon ending with a short piece of hair at the back. On the sides of her head are two air loops that go from the top of her ears around until meeting at the back where the ribbon is.
For clothing, Kiyoko is almost always wearing her traditional outfit, required as a family tradition for all the girls in the household. This outfit consists of a pink kimono with red inner sleeves and patterns of cherry blossoms all around it, a dark violet hakama tied at her waist that ends at her ankles, and black laced boots with a heel.

Behaviour
Kiyoko is best described as an easily excitable, impulsive, reckless, optimistic, energetic, and short-tempered girl, which is consistent with her normally exaggerated expressions. Despite her typical clothing and first impression asides, in a way, she could be considered a "tomboy." Generally speaking, she is very unladylike when it comes to how she handles herself. She enjoys playing rough and getting dirty when she needs to. She doesn't take kindly to following directions and prefers to pursue her own path in her own way. Due to her great determination, she is always up for a challenge, even if it seems too difficult for her. She can be somewhat short-tempered and is slow to back down from a challenge. Despite her impulsiveness, ultimately Kiyoko is a selfless person who would risk her own self and her reputation to help another.
History
From the minute Kiyoko was born, her life was an uphill battle. Her family was one of traditions, holding on to old customs. that have persisted since eras long lost to time by now. In the eyes of her extended family, she was expected to know her place and act as she was, a lady, just like her mother before that and her mother before that. She was supposed to help clean and do chores, assisting her female family members inside the house like the proper daughter she was and of course, this was training for a future that had been set in place not by her but by the patriarch of the house, her grandfather. It was expected of her that when she did come to age, she would be married off to a proper suitor. In the eyes of her family, she was to be nothing more than that.
What a load of bull that was. From very early on, it was quite clear to her family that Kiyoko was a rebellious girl. Being born with Vel was a strange phenomenon and quite jarring for her family but for the most part, her power was rather tame and she could fit in as normal. She lived in a large home with her extended family, her grandparents and aunts and uncles from both sides and their parents and their kids all dwelling in the same abode. Kiyoko was naturally curious and as a small toddler, she would venture far away from the side of her mother, exploring the house that she lived in and even outside when she did manage to get that far. When she was older, she found it a lot more entertaining to play with neighborhood boys than her cousins. Playing rough and dirty was fun, yet she would often get into trouble for this, asides from also getting punished for leaving the confines of the house without permission.
Her entire family's main method of sustainability is a relatively large bathhouse that resided in Haven. Once she was old enough, she was pushed to work there alongside her mother, her grandmother and other female family relatives. When she wasn't working, she was studying, taught by her great aunt. Surprisingly enough, Kiyoko was a very studious girl. Reading books from libraries nearby, she took a considerable liking to medicine and decided to pursue it as future endeavor. Kiyoko's grandmother encouraged her, seeing that her own grandmother was just like Kiyoko, someone who took little care about what other people thought she should be. Not only that, she was a free spirit just like Kiyoko, a well-known hunter who traveled far and wide to distant places. Kiyoko's grandmother helped nurture her love of exploring with these stories she had been told by her grandmother, being an ally in Kiyoko's wish to go against the current of her planned life.
Of course, it wasn't enough to be free to do pursue the career paths she was given. Kiyoko wanted to explore the world just like her ancestors had done before and help those in need. She was jealous of her older brother and her male cousins for being able to become enforcers while she wasted her life being another girl who would end up married off to the guy with the most money.
Apparently, however, her brother too cared little for his occupation. He hated his occupation and was against marrying girls of similar status, rich, snobby girls who all lacked any personality. He wanted freedom from his life. Having fallen in love with a scavenger girl who had been arrested by the city limits and knowing the punishment he would receive from both his family and his job, he ran away with her at the age of 19, disappearing from the world ever since that day.
Kiyoko's family life changed dramatically after that. Her father, distraught from both a feeling of guilt as well as anger, barely came home, choosing to drown his sorrows with alcohol. Her mother fell into a depressive state and was constantly sick, becoming bedridden. She stopped talking to Kiyoko or anybody for that matter.
As the years flew by and Kiyoko arrived at the age 18, ready to be claimed by suitors, she had a quite shocking proposal for her father and grandfather by extension. She wanted to become a hunter. Not just to explore the world, but to find her brother and bring some sort of semblance of closure for her family, especially her mother. Initially, their response was a hard no. They both thought she was too weak, a small, delicate girl wouldn't make it out there. Even her mother, who barely talked, begged for her only remaining child to heed the warnings of her elders and choose a simple life. Instead, she should become a housewife.
However, after nagging and nagging from both Kiyoko and her grandmother, her grandfather agreed to let her become a hunter.. on one condition. She would have to beat a master in swordsmanship/martial arts. If she was to become a hunter, she needed to be a fighter. This was supposed to be an impossible task for her as of course, she had no training in fighting at all which was.. unfortunately true. However, a constant ally of hers and someone who had encouraged to fight against her position in her life, Kiyoko's grandmother urged her to go seek mentorship on her own.
On the day of her birthday, she received her great great grandmother's old Vanta weapon, given to her by grandmother. The Honjo Masamune, as the weapon was called, was a family heirloom that had been passed down for several generations now. However, it's special ability could never be used by anyone but the original owner. Regardless, it became tradition for each descendant of Sophia to pass the weapon down to their descendants, blood-related girls who chose to receive it. Her mother had declined it in the pass, choosing a safer path in life, but perhaps it would find a good home with Kiyoko. Despite being gimmickless without attunement, the sword was very well-made and would be a helpful weapon for Kiyoko to use in battle.
However, to their surprise, the sword attuned to Kiyoko, recognizing her as if she was the owner, and allowing her to utilize its gimmick. Kiyoko's grandmother smiled warmly. The sword had done so not just because of the blood shared between these two courageous girls, but because the sword recognized the heart and soul that Kiyoko possessed, a courageous spirit that had only been seen once before - her great great-grandmother Sophia Tomoe. Everything became clear to Kiyoko's grandmother, confidently believing she had made the right choice. Kiyoko was destined to follow in the footsteps of the great woman who had came before them both.
Confident and desperately wanting to prove herself to both her supporters and those who thought little of her and hoping to be strong enough to complete the task assigned to her, Kiyoko quickly left the confines of her home to go find out a mentor who would teach her the ways of the sword. She wouldn't come home until she was worthy enough to.

Honjō Masamune

Description
The Honjō Masamune is your ordinary katana, a long curved, slender, single-edged blade, with a square guard and a long hilt made of wood and wrapped in samegawa. However, the blade itself has been reinforced with Vanta with a silver finish applied onto it that doesn't chip.
In its secondary state, the Masamune takes the form of a standard medical bag. The bag is made of pristine leather opened on the top with a split-handle design. There are pockets on the side with golden latches that give additional space for the bag.
Ability
Honjō Masamune in its normal, original state is anything but your average, ordinary katana. It's made quite well and the sword is abnormally hard to break but besides that, it acts and feels like a normal sword. However, upon being picked up by a user and activated by a valid user, a descendant of the original recipient, it warps into a standard medical bag, one used by field doctors.
The activation of its gimmick is rather simple. The user has to be touching the Masamune either in its bag state or its sword state and be wanting to change between either form. Due to the nature of the gimmick, any items added to it in its bag form will be retained but become inaccessible once the Masamune is switched back to its sword form. Of course, said items will be safe until the sword is activated and changed into its bag form.

Power
Kiyoko is able to shape, and manipulate heat of objects, including herself, by touching an object and rapidly increasing the kinetic energy of the atoms within, making things hotter to temperatures within a 100ºC range.
Asides from being to just manipulate, Kiyoko's body, in a sense, acts as a steam engine by also allowing her to generate heat from within her. Having a slightly higher body temperature than normal, Kiyoko has a higher tolerance to cold temperatures than most people would, being able to survive much longer in harsh conditions.
Disadvantages
Of course, a natural downside to her ability is Kiyoko's lack of resistance when it comes to handling hot objects. Her skin isn't heat resistant, meaning if she does touch an item that is very hot, she will get burned and feel the same amount of pain as any other purson. This means while she is using her Vel, she is in direct risk of hurting herself as she is highly susceptible to effects of theheat considering she needs contact to use her power.
On top of this, Kiyoko uses a lot of energy to generate heat within herself or other objects. It is tiring to sustain higher heat levels for long periods of time, obviously since heat equalizes over time and to keep an item at a higher temperature than it normally would be, she would need to keep using her power. Also, being in hot places for long exhausts her faster than it would for normal people.

Star Rank: 1 Description: While it's not a talent that Kiyoko is proud of having, she is capable of cooking quite well. Her mother and grandmother spends years teaching her both how to cook and imprinting a large amount of recipes.
Kiyoko can create a decent meal out of most simple food objects laying around, being pretty versatile in terms of what she can cook. She is very efficient and doesn't tend to waste any ingredients.
